Melisa Ellis flew to St. Petersburg for a Russian language course. On my arrival at Liden & Denz the next morning, I was enthusiastically welcomed and introduced to everyone. I was immediately struck by the informal and friendly atmosphere. We had two hours' study based around grammar practice followed by another two for conversation. The teaching methods were extremely varied and enjoyable, interspersed with regular coffee breaks in the canteen. Even complete beginners were encouraged to what they had done the day before, even if this involved large helpings of sign language. There was a feeling of joint involvement and achievement.
