Goodbye to our Italian Intern Anna

First of all: this experience for me was amazing. There’s not a single thing that in these past three months went wrong. I spent most of my time in the school, attending classes in the morning and working in the afternoon. Everything started and finished here at Liden and Denz, and now I feel like I’m really part of this school.

I know that many people traveled and lived in a different country for longer periods, but these months have meant the world to me. I challenged myself in ways I didn’t before, I studied, worked and lived in a place which is so far and so different from home, and I now feel really proud of myself.

When I decided to spend some time in Saint Petersburg, I wanted to achieve a personal goal and feel more comfortable talking in Russian. I’d like to thank the teachers, who have made studying here so engaging, who spurred me to talk and have been always kind and patient.
To this day, my vocabulary has improved a lot, and even though sometimes I still struggle with grammar I really feel like I could go everywhere in Russia and always get what I want with the words I know. So…goal achieved!

At the same time, I am very thankful I’ve had the opportunity to intern here at Liden & Denz as a Social Media Assistant. I learnt a lot, and Liza is really a super-supervisor!

Talking about the city…well, when I arrived in Saint Petersburg there were -15 degrees, I saw the frozen Neva and the Ermitage covered in snow, and every day seemed colder than the previous one. Now that I’m about to come back home, white nights have started, I’m only wearing a t-shirt and I’m always out for pic-nics. I’m glad I had the opportunity to see the city from two – so different – perspectives, and that’s why I recommend everyone to do the same. I’m already planning to come back as well!

До встречи, Питер!
