What you need to know about internships and volunteer work

Working abroad has become extremely popular in recent years. Young people are increasingly looking at work abroad options for a number of very practical reasons, which go beyond the obvious fact that working abroad looks good on any CV. Students choose Internships and Volunteering because they want to

Liden & Denz is one of the first organisations to offer meaningful study and work programmes in Russia. Our aim is to give students a unique insight into the Russian daily life of our times. Although the assignments we offer are all supervised by Liden & Denz, the experience inside our host organisations will be very authentic.
Maximum duration of an internship is 3 months.
All positions offered are unpaid for legal reasons.
Russian language proficiency is not required for a work placement.

The placement fee is EUR 250 if combined with a Russian language course (minimum 4 weeks group or 2 weeks one-to-one) and EUR 500 if no language course is booked.

Liden & Denz offers two kind of work experience programmes (as defined by the WYSE Work Abroad Association):

  • Internships
    A temporary, supervised, practical experience programme in which a young person, usually a college or university student, carries out a training experience in a temporary position at a host company.
  • Volunteer programmes
    A temporary, supervised, practical training in which a person voluntarily carries out a task which has social, environmental or cultural relevance.

– Internship duration: 4-12 weeks

– Internship schedule: Depending on the Russian course schedule internship can be done part-time in the afternoons and/or full-day.

– Language of internship: Russian or English languages.

– Internships are unpaid but some companies may decide to make you a job offer at the end of the internship, based on your results and current needs of the company. Anyway, you will gain a valuable professional experience, as each internship schedule and tasks are personally developed and designed considering the skills and career goals of a candidate and current projects of the company.

Volunteering in a charity organisation in St. Petersburg

Requirements:
– Native English, German or French speaker
– Tolerant, sociable and highly motivated people
– Team worker
– Experience of working with children is a plus
– Russian language level from A2 to B2 (depends on the position)
– Age: 21-25

Volunteering in a charity foundation in Moscow

Requirements:
– Experience of working with children is a must
– Artistic and creative skills are a plus
– Russian Language level – A1+.
