Vodka Tasting: Vodka Museum Saint Petersburg

Vodka Tasting: Vodka Museum Saint Petersburg
29 September, 2016

Vodka Tasting in Russia is definitely an obligation – at least, in my opinion. I think everyone, who is going to visit this country has to try some of the typical Russian spirits! So, where to go?

As we heard, that there exists a Vodka Museum in Saint Petersburg, we knew immediately that we will visit it one day! It is called “Museum of Russian Vodka” and is situated at the Konnogvardeisky Boulevard, easy to reach through Metro. It is very close to Admiralteyskaya station. We visited the museum on Saturday and fortunately, there was no rush of tourists.

The beautiful museum also owns a restaurant, which is placed in the same building. When we went in, two friendly women greeted and explained the various kinds of tickets to us. There are three possibilities: a ticket for the museum only, a ticket for the museum and tasting and also a ticket for the museum, audio guide and tasting. We decided to choose a ticket for museum and tasting. Unfortunately, there is no discount for students.

The museum is not very big, but I think it contains the most important exhibitions. There is a huge amount of exposed vodka bottles and brands – this was very astonishing! Of course, there are also lots of historical exhibitions and information available, which are very interesting.

Afterwards we went to the vodka tasting. To be honest, we were really excited! When we went in, everything was already prepared for us. The tasting includes three shots of vodka and three snacks. The barman explained, that the shots are sorted by strength and different brands. It was really funny and also very interesting!

Visiting the Vodka Museum is a nice way to spend your afternoon. I think it is a nice excursion especially for students!
