Working at Liden & Denz
While working at Liden & Denz my tasks included editing content for the marketing department and helping run the social media for the school. I also discovered more about the city I lived in by writing about my favourite places and experiences for the blog. This made me realise that I actually knew St. Petersburg better than I thought and I began to mourn my fast approaching departure.
My first four months in St. Petersburg were spent living in the historic city centre and studying Russian language at the Herzen State University. Although this was a fantastic experience and one I would happily do again, I found that I enjoyed my time at Liden & Denz more. Living in a shared flat in the Soviet surroundings of Prospekt Bolshevikov, I felt that I was finally getting to see the real Russia beyond Nevsky Prospekt. I also really relished the opportunity to be part of a Russian language speaking team and meet other students at school. I have to say that Liden & Denz has such a friendly, helpful atmosphere, that you already feel like part of a big family from the first day. Everyone, from the directors to the servers in the cafe, is ready to chat with you and make you feel welcome.
I would say that my time at Liden & Denz hasn’t just improved my level of language. After studying and working here I feel I’ve learnt a little more about life in general. My communication and organisation skills have really improved, and of course getting to know people not only from Russia but from all over the world is something that I’ll never forget. For the time being my adventures in Russia are over and it’s finally time to return to England, however I’m sure this is not the last time I’ll be in St. Petersburg and at Liden & Denz!
