Zorbing in Riga!

29 June, 2015

I am sure you have plenty of plans for this summer in Riga, but perhaps if you hear about zorbing, you will want to add it to your checklist!

Zorbing, also known as globe riding, is a recreational activity that includes rolling downhill or on a flat surface inside an orb (kind of like a hamster ball) generally made of transparent plastic. So you have a better idea of what it actually looks like, take a look at this video: Zorbing in Riga.

Zorbing can also be done on water due to the ball’s composition, which in that case is called “water walking”. There are orbs that carry one or more people, if you want to share the experience at the same time as your friends. It is an activity that is gaining popularity and is now combined with other sports, like basketball and even football.

Do not worry: during the activity you will be secure inside the orb. Of course there are some risks, so make sure you find a trustworthy company if you are interested. I recommend you to take a look at the following websites:

Baltic Events & Travel: http://www.eventstravel.net/activities/latvia-riga/zorbing-football/.

Riga Weekend: http://www.rigaweekend.com/activities-daytime/zorb.html.

You can enter in contact with this company should you be interested in tried out the sport, or even renting equipment for a summer party.

It is something many of us haven’t tried yet, and there is no better time than summer to go a little crazy!

We hope you try it out and have a good time with your friends!
